ELKINS -- Mrs. Alice Melinda Boggs, 61, of the Poe Run Community, died in the Memorial General Hospital Tuesday (March 23, 1965) at 12:35 p.m. from a lengthy illness.
Alice was born in Elkhurst, W. Va., December 31, 1904 the daughter of William A. and Isabella Rhodes Davis of Bickmore, W. Va.
On December 25, 1927, at Elkhurst, W. Va., she married Jacob S Boggs, who has preceded her in death on April 11, 1959. Also preceded in death by a sister, Nina Davis, and a brother Wilmer C. Davis.
She is survived by her parents, a daughter, Mrs. Linda (Robert) Chenoweth of Elkins, and five sons, Roscoe H. (Loretta) Boggs of Detroit, Mi., Herbert E. (Erma) Boggs of Cleveland Oh., Clyde E. (Shirley) Boggs of Crimora, Va., Lenard J. (Doris) Boggs of Beverly, W. Va., and David R. (Doris) Boggs of Elyria, Oh., two sisters, Ethel A. (Gilbert) Hedrick of Elkins, W. Va., and Alma I. (Osborn) Hart of Washington, W. Va., six brothers, Howard A. (Cody) Davis, Luther W. (Florence) Davis, both of Beechy Ridge, W. Va., Thomas M. (Gracie) Davis and Burton W. (Florence) Davis, Paul R. (Katherine) Davis, all of St. Albans, W. Va., Lloyd B. (Mabel) Davis of Jacksonville, Fl., eight grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.
The body will remain at the Runner & Tomblyn Funeral Home.
Services will be, Friday March 26 at the Funeral Home Chapel by the Clergyman, Rev. Kenneth Corley of Mill Creek, W. Va., Final resting place will be at Little Arlington Cemetery, Elkins, W. Va.
