Found in The State (Columbia, SC) 31 May 2000: Winnsboro-Services for Barney James Timms, 88, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Fairfield Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery...Mr. Timms died Tuesday, May 30, 2000. Born in Fairfield Co., April 19, 1912, he was a son of the late Samuel and Lillie Young Timms. He was retired from UniRoyal, Inc., was a farmer and a member of Fairfield Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Surviving are his wife, Frances Broome Timms; sons, Barney Andrew Timms of Blythewood, William Timms, Sam Timms, Paul Timms, all of Winnsboro; daughters, Margie Johnson of Winnsboro, Deborah Woodruff of Simpsonville, Diane Moore of Prosperity; sisters, Johnny Boulware of Ridgeway, Mable Turkett of Winnsboro; ten grandchildren; a great-grandchild.
