Transcribed from the book Fairfield South Carolina Cemeteries Volume I Western Section of County, page 51 (Fairfield Baptist-Highway 213). Per the book: he was the husband of Lillie Estelle Young and a son of Charles & Sarah Mathews Timms.

Found in The State (Columbia, SC) 26 July 1935: Winnsboro, July 25--News was received here today of the death this morning of Samuel Timms, 76, of Winnsboro, at John Hopkins hospital, following a head operation. He was taken to the hospital in Baltimore last Sunday. Death comes as a shock to family and many friends. Mr. Timms is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sam Timms of Winnsboro; seven daughters, Mrs. W. H. Knight of Charleston, Mrs. E. K. Rabb, Mrs. G. R. Shedd, Mrs. T. T. Boulware, Miss Mabel Timms, Winnsboro; Mrs. P. C. Turner, Fort Mill; Miss Viola Timms, Cleveland, Ohio; and three sons, Chalmers Timms, Barnie Timms, Winnsboro; Edgar Timms, Denver, Colo.; two brothers, T. L. Timms, G. H. Timms, Winnsboro and 14 grandchildren.
