Edgar B. Timms Sr. (Red), 87, went to be with the Lord April 21, 1986.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel; and is survived by his children, Mrs. Adam (LaRue) Klein, and Mrs. Harold (Donna) Christman of Mansfield; sons, Edgar B. Jr. and Samuel S. of Akron; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Barney of Winnsboro, S.C.; and sisters, Jan Boulware of Jenkenville, S.C., Meredith Turner of Cross Anchor, S.C., and Mabel Turkett of Winnsboro, S.C.

Mr. Timms was born in Winnsboro, S.C., and came to Akron in 1921. He retired from the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in 1963.

The family will receive friends at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. (across from Coventry Plaza), Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m., where Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m., Rev. Howard Powell officiating. Internment Greenlawn Memorial Park.
