Funeral Services On Saturday for Lonzo A. Banning

Funeral services were held Saturday in Longton for Lonzo A. Banning under the direction of the Webb Funeral Home.

Lonzo A. Banning, 66, Route 1, Elk City, died at The Manor at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. He had been a patient in Mercy Hospital since Sept. 6 and was moved to the Manor earlier Wednesday.

Lonzo A. Banning was born Mar. 6, 1902, at Wauneta, Kan., the son of Delbert B. and Etha (Myers) Banning. He moved from Wauneta to the Longton area in 1927 and was a farmer and rancher near Longton and Hale all his life. At the time of his death he was master of the Cove Valley Grange.

He married Veora Jackson at Sedan May 30, 1925, and she survives at the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Jean) Weber, Independence; four sons, Martin of Tyrone, Ok la.. Delbert of Independence, Cecil of Hesston, Kan., and James of Johnson, Kan.; three sisters, Mrs. Eula Pumpelly of Wichita, Mrs. Goldie Crew of Winfield, and Mrs. Edith Reed of Peru; two brothers, Luther and Boyd, Neodesha; and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and an infant son.
