Mrs. Betty Jean Weber, 83, of Independence, died Sunday morning at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville.

Graveside Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery with the Reverend Phil Adams, pastor of the Church of the Brethren of Independence, officiating.

Interment will be under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel of Independence. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the Avenue of Flags Project and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.

Betty Jean Weber was born January 19, 1926 at Wauneta, Kansas the daughter of Lonzo Abram Banning and Veora Allison (Jackson) Banning. She attended Hard Rock School in Hale, Kansas. After her schooling she worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons. She was a homemaker and a stay at home mom while raising her children. Mrs. Weber later worked for Reed's IGA in the Deli and Bakery.

She was an active bowler for many years and had served as league secretary.

On February 23, 1946 at Independence, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Raymond Weber. Mr. Weber survives at the home.

Additional survivors include: three daughters, Ragena and her husband Bill Andres of Independence; Barbara and her husband John Elliott of Atlanta, Georgia and Jana Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; 10 great grand children; and four brothers, Martin "Bud" Banning of Tyrone, Oklahoma, Delbert "Babe" Banning of Independence, Kansas, Cecil Banning of Hesston, Kansas and James Banning of Johnson, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Roy Weber and a brother Lowell Banning.
