SAN JON, N.M. - Jack William Buxton, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in San Jon Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Mitchell and the Rev. Frankie McKinley officiating. Burial will be in San Jon Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.

Mr. Buxton was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Vici, Okla. His parents are buried at Vassar Cemetery, Dewey, Oklahoma. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a rancher in the San Jon area for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Shayne Buxton of San Jon; a daughter, Sherry Fury of Golden City, Mo.; six grandchildren; four sisters, Maxine Warren of Georgia and Nadine Battin, Shirley Ann Stone and Bernadine Barclay, all of Texas; and five brothers, Lowell Buxton of Tucumcari and Dale Buxton, Hobart Buxton, Calvin Buxton and Jerry Buxton, all of Texas.
