Hobart Glenn BUXTON, 80, of Booker, Texas went missing May 3, 2018. He was found June 13, 2019 around the Lake Vincent area in Ellis County, Oklahoma. Graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Friday, September 4, 2020 at Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, we will be practicing social distancing and occupancy numbers will be limited. Graveside service will be broadcast live on Boxwell Brothers Facebook page for those who wish to watch. There is a link on the website (boxwellbros.com) to access the Facebook page.

Hobart was born October 3, 1937 in Vici, Ok to Walter and Bertha Derrick BUXTON. He married Marilyn RODGERS on December 16, 2002 in Arnett, Ok. He worked as a truck driver in the oilfield for several years. He had a passion for playing and watching football. He was Allstate football player in 1957 for Perryton High School. He went on to play defensive tackle for TCU, where he roomed with Bob LILLY that went on to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Hobart served in the US Army from November 1960 - November 1962. He also loved to drive around with his wife looking at the countryside and lakes. He was a good provider for his family and was always willing to help people even if he did not know them.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Rodgers BUXTON of Booker, Tx; daughters, Patricia (Larry) PROFFER of Lipscomb, Tx, Patricia (Tom) PITTS of Gulf Breeze, Fl, Barbara (Ken) WILCOX of Navarre, Fl, Lori ANDERSON of Lipscomb, Tx; sons, Earl CAMPBELL of Houston, Tx and Kevin (Flora) CAMPBELL of Amarillo, Tx; brothers, Lowell (Dorothy) BUXTON of Amarillo, Tx, Calvin BUXTON of Hale Center, Tx, Jerry BUXTON of Perryton, Tx; sister Shirley Ann STONE of Amarillo, Tx; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Norma June MOAD; daughter, Connie MATTIS; brothers Dale BUXTON and Jack BUXTON; sisters, Bernadine BARCLAY, Maxine STEVEN and Nadine BATTIN.

Graveside services for Hobart Glenn BUXTON, 80, of Booker will be held Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

He served in the U. S. Army from 1960-62. He worked as a truck driver in the oilfield for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bertha (Derrick) BUXTON; his first wife Norma June MOAD; one daughter, Connie MATTIS; two brothers, Dale BUXTON and Jack BUXTON; three sisters, Bernadine BARCLAY, Maxine STEVEN and Nadine BATTIN.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; four daughters, Patricia PROFFER and Lori ANDERSON, both of Lipscomb, Patricia PITTS of Gulf Breeze, FL; three brothers, Lowell BUXTON of Amarillo, Calvin BUXTON of Hale Center and Jerry BUXTON of Perryton; one sister, Shirley Ann STONE of Amarillo; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
