Maxine W. Stevens, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born April 15, 1924 in Vici, Oklahoma and went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2011. A member of the Roopville community since 1958, Ms. Stevens was a homemaker who spent her life taking care of her family. She loved birds and nature, visiting with her family, and listening to the words of Billy Graham. Ms. Stevens was a member of Roopville Baptist Church. Proceeded in death by two husbands and her children Keith, Linda, and Ray, she is mourned by her remaining children and their spouses; Henry and Diane Warren, Ruth and Jim Crawley, Russell and Peggy Warren, Mary and Donald Lathery, Terry and Kay Warren, Faye and Alan Baswell, Kaye Stevens, and Billy and Christie Stevens. She is survived by four brothers, three sisters, nineteen grandchildren, and thirty great-grandchildren. Her legacy is her family who love and miss her. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 5PM until 9PM. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11 AM from Holy Ground Baptist Church with Rev. Kellie Runels officiating. Pallbearers will be David Warren, Dan Warren, Jimmy Crawley, Chuck Warren, Michael Warren, Donny Lathery, Mathew Baswell, and Adam Baswell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Warren, Hubert Lathery, and John Stevens-Garmon. Interment will follow in Roopville City Cemetery, Roopville, GA.
