Obituary:
Funeral services for Joy A. Hanson were conducted from the Faith Lutheran Church of Isanti on Thursday, October 13, 1966 at 2 o'clock with Rev. Harold Elvert officiating. Orley Eastlund sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Kermit Estlund was the organist. The pallbearers were Gordon Bostrom, Alfred Larson, Clarence Belin, Walter Johnson, Lawrence Collin and Glen Larson. The interment was made in Gerdin's cemetery.

Joy A. Hanson was born November 6, 1896 at Albert Lea, Minnesota, the son of Nels and Jeanette Hanson. Mr. Hanson was retired from the Soo Line railroad where he had worked for fourteen years. He was formerly from Douglas, ND where he was a drayman for 24 years. His first wife Lillian died there in 1944.

Mr. Hanson passed away at the Memorial Hospital in Cambridge on Sunday, October 9, 1966, at the age of 69. He is survived by his second wife, Rosella, seven sons, Dale (Gene)of Spring Lake Park, Carl (Susie), Glendale, AZ; Richard (Dorothy), Spring Lake Park; Gerald, Miles, Iowa; Lynn, in the US Navy; Kenneth in the US Army; Thomas, at home, one stepson, Leslie Williams, Hephom, Montana; four daughters, Mrs. P. J. Feldman (Deloris), Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; Mrs. J. W. Carter (Joyce) Miles, Iowa; Mrs. George Gerdin (Koreen) Bethel; Mrs. Delbert Heckenlaible (JoAnn) Lodi, California; 3 stepdaughters Mrs. Kenneth Bellin (Ida),Isanti; Mrs. Michael Winch (Estella) Sacramento, California; and Mrs. William Forcier (Mary)Isanti. Also surviving are seven brothers, four sisters, and forty grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
