Notes from Julia Holm Family History written 1950:

At the time of this writing, word has just been received that Nels died in a hospital in Minneapolis. The cause of his death was heart disease. He was down for a visit last fall, also for Charley Gran's funeral 1949. He was afflicted with heart trouble then and had an attack shortly after his return home from the funeral. He also attended Clara Hendrickson's funeral, and it was upon his
return from this occasion he was taken ill again, rushed to the hospital and died there. He was buried from the Lutheran church in Minneapolis.

Julia wrote: I was very grateful to be able to attend Nels funeral. I shall never forget it. They have a lovely family of 12, ten of whom are married. All were present for the funeral except the oldest daughter Laura who lives in Canada, and due to the high rate of exchange, was unable to make it across the border. However, she had been home last fall. It was, indeed, nice to see so many in one family be together - children and grandchildren of such a nice large family. Nels was the son of Hans Nilsen Preseter.
