Greenfield Argus, Nov 22, 1918, the body of Phillip Reno, who died at Alton of pneumonia on Tuesday, was brought to his old home in Rockbridge and buried in the Green Cemetery yesterday. He was aged 68 years. His wife who was a sister of William Crist has been dead several years. Several grown children survive.
Alton Newspapers Hayner Library Newspaper Archive, 1918 Nov 22 Funeral of Philip Reno, The funeral of Philip Reno was held Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. in Rockbridge The funeral services were conducted by Rev W. M. Rhoads in the presence of a large circle of relatives and friends. He leaves six children all of whom are living. Mrs. Owen Bishop, Mrs. Grace Reno of Alton and Mrs. Sand Alexander and Mrs. Joe Whittico of Jerseyville. And two sons Edgar Reno of Carrollton and Otis Reno who is serving in the US Army in France and also one brother Lemuel Reno of Rockbridge. The remains were laid to rest in the Whitlock Cemetery beside his wife who died 11 years ago.
