Greenfield Argus - Dec 13, 1907 - Died Friday December 6, at 7:10 p.m. Mrs. Philp Reno after a two weeks illness of typhoid pneumonia, Ashby Crist was born March 3, 1863 and was married to Phillip Reno Oct 8, 1881. Seven children were born to this union six of whom are living, Mrs. Glen Close, and Viola Wittico of Alton, Edgar Verna Grace and Otis at home, one dying in infancy. She also leaves a husband three sisters Mrs. William Johnson, Mrs. Cyrus Reno and Mrs. John Emery. and three brothers William and Clyde all of this place and Charley of Piasa and her mother Mrs. Rebecca Crist, to mourn her departure. She professed faith in Christ and united with the Rockbridge Baptist church about eighteen years ago, from which church the funeral was held Sunday at 10 a.m. conducted by the pastor Rev O.A. Carmean in the presence of a large circle of sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Whitlock cemetery beside the loved one gone before.
