Alton Newspapers - Hayner Library Newspaper Archive - 1953 May 18 - Edgar W. Reno Jerseyville - Edgar W Reno a retired farmer, died Sunday at 2:50 a.m. in Alton Memorial Hospital. His death occurred eight days after his seventy fifth birthday anniversary. Reno was born at Rockbridge a son of the late Philip J and Margaret Crist Reno. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elva Reno, two daughters Mabel Gunsing and Mrs. Mae Schrieber and a son Philip J Jr. all of Jerseyville, two sisters Mrs. Vera Alexander, of Jerseyville and Mrs. Glendola Whittico, St Louis Missouri and nine grandchildren. The body is at Jacoby Bros. funeral home where friends may call after 2 p.m. today. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. today. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. (DST) Tuesday in Assembly of God Church by the Rev. by the Rev. Melvin McClain. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. ~~ provided by: mlc
