Annie Brown was born in 1896 in Bell County, Texas. She was the 9th of ten children born to Robert S. Brown and Nancy Bond. Her given name was Robbie Zoanna, which was shortened to "Annie".
Annie married Joe Williams in 1911 in Lampasas, Texas, when he was 18 and she was 14. They had five children together before she died: Zelma Iola, John Elmer, Ruby Jewel, and twins Marvin Earl "Froggie", and Melvin Harold "Doodle Bug".
Annie died in 1922 at the age of 26. She is buried beside her mother, Nancy Brown.
