Oscar Winfield Eppley, prominent farmer of Cumberland County, died at 3 o'clock this morning at his home, Carlisle, R.D. 3, after an illness of a year. He was aged 72 years.
Mr. Eppley was a member of the Letort Springs Evangelical Church. For many years he was engaged in farming near Meadowbrook Park, retiring several years ago as one of the most successful farmers of this section.
In addition to his widow, Mrs. Katherine Nell Eppley, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, Carlisle; six sons, Frank A. Eppley, of Middlesex; S. Ralph, Clarence A., and Chester L. Eppley, all of Carlisle; Charles E. and Arthur R. Eppley, at home; three brothers, Charles C., A.H. and U. Grant Eppley, all of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home near Meadowbrook Park. The body will be placed in a crypt in the Westminster Mausoleum.
