S. Ralph Eppley, 80, of 57 William Drive, died this morning at his home.

Mr. Eppley was born Jan. 3, 1895 in South Middleton Township. He was a retired employe (sic) of Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot, and was a former owner of a garage in Carlisle where he had the Hopmobile Agency from 1922-1931.

He served on the Selective Service Board in Carlisle and was a member of St. Johns Lodge 260 F&AM; Harrisburg Consistory; National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Post 101; Middlesex United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War I, having served as a sergeant in the Army, and was a graduate of Carlisle Commercial College.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Storch Eppley; three brothers, Charles E., Carlisle; Clarence A., Harrisburg, and A. Raymond, Plainfield, a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth L. Williams, 829 N. West St., Carlisle.

The service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, Walnut Bottom Road at Belvedere St., Carlisle. The Rev. J. Roy Bower will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Middlesex Unite Methodist Church Parsonage Fund or the American Cancer Society, 236 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.
