DEATHS.

SAMUEL EPPLEY

Dies at His Home in North Middleton Township, Aged 82 Years.

Mr Samuel Eppley, one of North Middleton township's prominent citizens, died at his home, three miles northwest of this place, at 7 o'clock last evening, aged 82 years. The cause of his death was infirmities of old age, and he had been in ill health the past four months. The funeral will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Ashland Cemetery.

Mr Eppley attended tho Lutheran church. He is survived by a wife and the following children: William H and Samuel L., of Carlisle; O W., of Middlesex township; James W., of Plainfield; Charles C of Monroe township; A H., of North Middleton township and U Grant, of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by tho following brothers: Geo., of Boiling Springs; William, of Upper Allen township and Martin, of Carlisle. Mr Eppley was born in York county (sic) and was the son of Jacob Eppley. When he was quite a young man his parents removed to Cumberland county (sic).

In 1847 Mr Eppley was married to Miss Amanda Hoon, of Mifflin township, who survives him. By occupation he was a farmer, and retired about ten years ago. For 35 years he has resided in North Middleton township, having removed from Hampden township. At different times he served as school director, and for three years served as county commissioner. Mr Eppley was a good citizen, a kind husband and father, and had many friends.

Funeral of Samuel Eppley.

The funeral of Samuel Eppley was held from his late residence in North Middleton this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev Ira F Brame. Six sons of the deceased acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in the Ashland Cemetery.
