JOHN RICHARD PATE, 89, died Tuesday at his home. He was a native of Cloverport, retired owner of the old Phillips 66 service station at Dixie Highway and Garrs Lane, and a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Survivors: his wife, the former Margaret Milliner; sons, Robert L. and Harold T. Pate; brothers, William A. and Louis C. Pate; sisters, Edna C. Hanke, Martine Dorth and Lois Kraus; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, his church, 4005 Dixie Highway. Burial: Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: Owen, 5317 Dixie Highway, 2-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts: St. Vincent dePaul Society.
