WILLIAM AUSTIN PATE - CLOVERPORT - William Austin Pate, 81, retired farmer, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday at the DeJarnette Nursing Home here. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Pate; six sons, Robert, Leo, and Louis Pate, all of Cloverport, Clarence and John Pate, both of Louisville, Billy Pate of Paducah; seven daughters, Mrs. Alvin Hanke, Mrs. Elstan Hanke, Mrs. Edith Weber and Mrs. Omer Hanke, all of Louisville, Mrs. Frank Kraus of Tell City, Ind., and Mrs. Louise Hendrickson of Cloverport; 40 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Pate of Evansville, Ind. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Aloysius Fischer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body is at the Harry L. Dhonau Funeral Home at Cloverport, where prayers will be said at 8 p.m. today.
