Services for Mrs. L A Nichols, 72, who died at 11 pm, Tuesday, July (June) 24, at the Houston Hospital, were conducted from the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at 2 pm, Wednesday, June 25, with the Rev. J F Rogers officiating.
Interment was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Norman Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Nichols death was sudden. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
She was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw county. She was born Sept. 26, 1885, the daughter of the late James Edward Dendy and Olivia Woffard Dendy. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
She leaves her husband, L A Nichols of Woodland, three sons, Gervis and Lawson Nichols, both of Houston, and Rufus W., of Little Rock, Ark.; four daughters, Mrs. I L Vaughn of Woodland, Miss Lura Nichols of West Point, Mrs. H H Crisman of Columbus, Miss., and Mrs. Sam Shockley of Houston, Tex.; one brother, John Dendy of Ozie, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. J H Lyles and Mrs. Ola House, both of Houston, Miss. Eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
