Mrs. Martha Lyles Buried at Bethel
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Ann (Mattie) Lyles, 85, a lifelong resident of Chickasaw county, who died at Lamb's Rest Home at 9:45 am, Sunday, May 5, were conducted from the Bethel Baptist Church at 3 pm, Monday, May 6, with the Rev. Edd Campbell officiating.
Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery with Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Lyles was born July 2, 1882, the daughter of J E Dendy and Dolly Wofford Dendy. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
She leaves five daughters, Mrs. Thelma Harrington, Mrs. Josie Lyles, and Mrs. Charlene Willis, all of Houston, Mrs. Virginia Taylor of Costa Misa, Calif., and Mrs. Marianne Dickson of Memphis; a son, Hogan Lyles of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Ola House of Houston, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rufus Nichols, Evans Dendy, Aubrey House, Bobby Gilbert, Osmal Vaughn, and Durell Gann.
