PERU - Services for Evelyn C, Townsend, 80, of 656 Jefferson Ave., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. She died at 2:48 a.m. Wednesday in Dukes Memorial Hospital. Born March 11, 1912, in North Grove, she was the daughter of William and Mary Love Sutton. On June 3, 1931, she was married to James F. Townsend, who survives. Mrs. Townsend was a homemaker. Also surviving are four sons, Frank and Donnie, both of Denver, and Joe and Jim, both of Peru; five daughters, Ruth Sopher, Barbara Townsend, Judy Sutton, Susie Depoy, and Cathy Drake, all of Peru; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. One daughter, five sons, seven brothers and two sisters preceded in death. The Rev. Stephen Baines will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
