Barbara Townsend, 74, died 2:45 p.m. November 18, 2013 in Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Barbara was born January 6, 1939, in Miami County to the late James and Evelyn (Sutton) Townsend. She was a homemaker.
Barbara enjoyed family and never met a stranger and loved giving hugs to everyone.
She is survived by two brothers, Donnie Townsend of Peru and Jimmy Townsend and wife Angela of Peru; four sisters, Ruth Sopher and husband Ted of Peru, Judy Sutton and husband Alan of Peru, Susanna Stewart and husband Bill of Peru, and Cathy Drake and husband Carl of Peru; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Townsend, Virginia Townsend, and Ardath Townsend; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Frank Townsend, Joseph Wayne Townsend, Jackie Lynn Townsend, and Gene Raymond Townsend; sister Shirley Louis Townsend.
Funeral service is noon Friday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Friends may call10:00 a.m. to the time of service. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Denver.
