Donald David Townsend passed away June 12, 2015. Donnie was born September 7, 1949 to James and Evelyn Sutton Townsend. He was married to Ardath Dilsaver on Augsust 30, 1968 and had two children: Donnie Jo of Terre Haute and Angela Townsend of Denver Indiana. He has three grandchildren: Nathan Hoffman, Jacob Pigg, and Hannah Binnion. Also, one great-granddaughter, Kinley Davenport. Also, three year companion Bonnie Carter, Peru Indiana.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Frank and Joe, and one sister Barbara. He is survived by his sister in laws Velma and Virginia Townsend; sisters: Ruth Sopher and deceased husband Ted Sopher, Judy and husband Allen Sutton, Susie and husband Bill Stuart, Cathy and husband Carl Drake, and brother Jim and wife Angela Townsend, all of Peru, Indiana.
Donnie loved to hunt, fish, play guitar and sing. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed time spent with them.
Friends may call at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 19, 2015 till time of service at 11:00 PM at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Levi Fisher and Chuck Cooley will officiate. Burial will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Denver, Indiana.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
