Funeral services for Mrs. Ella B. Blair will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Alexandria with Dr. Chris Thacker officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Blair, 90, of Alexandria entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 10, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on January 2, 1924 in Marion, Louisiana and is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert L. Blair; their infant son, Dale E. Blair; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua M. Adams; her brothers, Jim Adams, Pat Adams, George Adams and Fred Adams; her sisters, Marie Reese, and Opal Collins.

She is survived by her son, Darrell Blair and wife, Donna of Alexandria and by her daughter, Amy Blair McKinney of Nashville, Tennessee. She is survived by four grandchildren: John Blair and wife, Mandy and great grandson, Cooper; Stephanie Blair Carriker and husband, Jet and great grandson, Jeaux; Joshua McKinney; Tamela McKinney Lerma and husband, Kenny and great grandson, Morgan Corley and great granddaughter, Scarlett Lerma. She is also survived by three brothers: Tom Adams of Huntington Beach, California, Ben Adams of Houma, Louisiana and Don Adams of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and one sister, Lark Ellen Tozier of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Mr. and Mrs. Blair were married for sixty-one years and lived in the Alexandria area. Mrs. Blair was a 1949 graduate of LSU where she met her husband. She was one of eleven children, with one graduating from Louisiana Tech and ten graduating from LSU. They still hold the record for the most siblings to graduate from LSU in one family. Her primary concern was for the well-being and care of her family. She helped in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was on the Women's Bowling League for over thirty years. She will be missed by family and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be John Blair, Joshua McKinney, Jet Carriker, Kenny Lerma, Morgan Corley and Frank Adams.
