Ben M. Adams, 98, of Houma, LA, passed away peacefully on the evening of Nov 10, 2023, at his home.

A memorial service will be held with Military Honors at Samart Funeral Home at 635 Bayou Blue Rd., on Nov 20, 2023. Visitation will be from 1230 to 1300 hours at which time the service will start.

Ben was born on Feb 25, 1925, to the parents of Joshua Monroe and Mary Ann Adams in Marion, LA. He grew up on the farm in north LA.

Upon graduating high school, he joined the Army Air Corp during WWII. At the end of the war, he met and married his wife, Betty of 71 years.

Ben received his degree at LSU and taught the Agricultural class at 6th Ward Junior High School. Later he joined the State Health Department as an inspector.

Ben is preceded in death by his wife Betty, daughters Sheila Ramirez, and Barbara Marler, grand-daughters Annette Bruno, Paula Fonseca, grandson James Bergeron Jr. Ben was the last of 11 children raised by Joshua and Mary Adams.

He is survived by his son, Frank Adams wife Janice, daughter Edna Liner, grandsons Kevin Adams wife Tracey, Louis (P-Nut) Liner wife Tara, Mark Ramirez, David Ramirez wife Carol, grand-daughters Brandi Liner and Kayle Meyers husband James. He is also survived by 11 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
