Funeral service was held Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church with Rev. C. Allen Myers III officiating.
A native of Guilford County, she was born May 20, 1919 to the late Ira Chrismon and Myrtle Wyrick Chrismon. She retired as a seamstress from Dixie Belle.
Thelma enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, working in her rock garden, and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Hurley Whitesell; brothers, Jesse Chrismon, Loyd Chrismon, Rev. Pete Chrismon, Jake Chrismon, and sister, Fleta Coltrane.
She is survived by son, Jimmie Whitesell (Jean); daughter, Linda Goodman(Dwane); brothers, Golden Chrismon, Eugene Chrismon, and Donnie Chrismon; 4 Grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
