Parker, Greenwood Co, KS-the Parker Pilot 26 June 1891-Jesse W. Moran died 15 June 1891 at his home in Eureka, KS, was 55 years old. Born in North Carolina. Moved with his parents to Illinois and in 1859 he moved to Liberty TWP, Kansas. Ten years ago he moved to Greenwood Co., KS. He leaves a wife and five children.
From the Eureka Herald, June 19, 1891---Died--Moran--at his home in this city Monday, June 15, 1891, at 8 o'clock am of a complication of army diseases, Jesse W. Moran, aged about 52 years. The deceased was born in Chatham, North Carolina, but for many years prior to his death, was a resident of Kansas, two or three years a resident of this city. He served his country faithfully as a soldier. He enlisted in July, 1861, in Company E, 10th Calvary, and was mustered out, broken in health, in August, 1864. He was a member of Washburn Post #269 (of the G.A.R.), Neal, Kansas, was one of its charter members and was at his death post senior vice-commander. The funeral service conducted by Dick Yates Post, and at the request of Dick Yates Post (also G.A.R.), were held at the home of the family, Tuesday afternoon and were largely attended. A choir of excellent singers sang, in a touching, tender manner, Logan's "Bivouac of the Dead". Rev. J. W. Wright, pastor of the M.E. Church assisted at the services. The deceased leaves a widow and several children to mourn his death and with whom, in their sad bereavement, our people deeply sympathize.

Parker, Greenwood Co, KS-the Parker Pilot 26 June 1891-Jesse W. Moran died 15 June 1891 at his home in Eureka, KS, was 55 years old. Born in North Carolina. Moved with his parents to Illinois and in 1859 he moved to Liberty TWP, Kansas. Ten years ago he moved to Greenwood Co., KS. He leaves a wife and five children.
From the Eureka Herald, June 19, 1891---Died--Moran--at his home in this city Monday, June 15, 1891, at 8 o'clock am of a complication of army diseases, Jesse W. Moran, aged about 52 years. The deceased was born in Chatham, North Carolina, but for many years prior to his death, was a resident of Kansas, two or three years a resident of this city. He served his country faithfully as a soldier. He enlisted in July, 1861, in Company E, 10th Calvary, and was mustered out, broken in health, in August, 1864. He was a member of Washburn Post #269 (of the G.A.R.), Neal, Kansas, was one of its charter members and was at his death post senior vice-commander. The funeral service conducted by Dick Yates Post, and at the request of Dick Yates Post (also G.A.R.), were held at the home of the family, Tuesday afternoon and were largely attended. A choir of excellent singers sang, in a touching, tender manner, Logan's "Bivouac of the Dead". Rev. J. W. Wright, pastor of the M.E. Church assisted at the services. The deceased leaves a widow and several children to mourn his death and with whom, in their sad bereavement, our people deeply sympathize.

Jessie died of chronic diarrhea from the poor health he attainted in the service of his country during the Civil War. He was 54 years old and died before the birth of his last child, a son, Edwin Washburn Moran.
