OBITUARY:
James M. Moran Dies--James Moran, 68 well known Madison, resident, died at Basham hospital in Eureka Tuesday, April 28, 1942 following an illness of three days.

Mr. Moran was born January 20, 1874, in Lyon County, Kansas and moved with his parents to Greenwood County in June, 1882 and has lived in and around Eureka since. After the death of his father he moved to a farm with his mother and two younger brothers, where he provided a home for them. He taught school in the county along with his farming and cattle interests until the death of his mother, January 8, 1926. Since then he has made his home in Madison. He never married.

He lived a life of thoughtfulness for those with whom he came in contact. He departed this life April 28, 1942, at Basham hospital in Eureka after only a brief illness of three days. He leaves to mourn his departure, brothers, John Moran of Eureka; Will Moran of Hoisington; Ed Moran of near Olpe and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Baird Funeral Home in Eureka on Wednesday, April 29, at 3 o'clock, Rev. Sutton, of the Eureka Christian Church conducting the services, Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery.
