Dorothy "Dot" Bennett, age 84, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Childress. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2012 in First United Methodist Church with Rev. George Price officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Dorothy was born March 6, 1928 in Childress to Robert and Jessie King Jones.She & Billy Joe Bennett married June 14, 1946 in Childress.She worked at Lois dress shop in Childress as well as at Happy Hallmark. She was active in Ladies Golf Assn., Modern Home Club, American Cancer Society, Eastern Star, First United Methodist Church and Fellowship Sunday School Class and Agape Circle.She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Bennett; five brothers Rayford, Joe, Leonard, Robert & Pete Jones. three sisters Normalee Gardner, Margie Murray & Flora Phillips.
