OBIT: CHILDRESS - Joe Eugene Jones, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was born Sept. 10 1925, in Childress to Robert E. and Jessie P. Jones. He married Pearl Louise Shackelford on June 9, 1946, in Goree.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Venita Jo Wichhart of Webb City, Mo.; two sisters, Dot Bennett and and Lajuana Thaten, both of Childress; and two brothers, Rayford Jones and Pete Jones, both of Tell.
The family suggests memorials be to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1073, Childress, TX 79201; or First United Methodist Church, 201 Ave. D N.E., Childress, TX 79201.
