Gordon Willford, Sr., of 3049 N. Bard Rd., Gladwin, died in Mt. Dora, Fla., Thursday morning, April 12. Born in Iowa July 16, 1900, he came to Gladwin County in 1903 with his parents. He was a farmer and carpenter until his retirement. Mr. Willford and the former Doris Foutch were married August 20, 1962, in Gladwin and she survives him. He was a member of the Gladwin County Farm Bureau.

Other survivors are one son, Gordon Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. Noah (Eileen) Baning, Mrs. William (Florence) Adams, and Mrs. Victor (Dorothy) Martin, all of Gladwin; one brother, Buryl of Gladwin; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Bellinger of Gladwin; 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. One son Thomas preceded him in death in 1967.

Services were held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home and burial was in Highland Cemetery. The Rev. Carl Briggs officiated at the rites. Gladwin County Record dated 4-18/1973 Column – 4 Page – 2.
