Albert M. Gibson, 87, of West Carrollton, formerly of Butler Township, passed away Monday (May 22, 2006) at Heartland of Oak Ridge, Miamisburg. He was born Sept. 21, 1918, in Cambridge, son of the late Albert L. and Grace McConkey) Gibson. Mr. Gibson was a retired building maintenance worker with General Motors, having served 30 years. He was a member of the Millennium Lodge 779, F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and the Antioch Shrine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iona in 1996; a sister, Helen, and four brothers, Walter, Clyde, Glen and Art. He leaves a daughter, Sharon (Martin) Blessing of West Carrollton; two sons, Paul (Winnie) Gibson of Texas and Albert I. Gibson of Arizona; two grandchildren, Todd Gibson and Tim Blessing; a great-grandson, Nicholas Blessing; and numerous other relatives and friends. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia, where services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
