Edith Lucille Archer, 93, of Cambridge, died Friday (June 15, 2007) at the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge.
She was born Oct. 20, 1913, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Albert and Grace (McConkey) Gibson.
Mrs. Archer worked at the Cozy Corner and also the Fourth Street Diner. She attended Abundant life Pentecostal Church and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a resident of Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center where she was known for saying "Take me down the hall!"
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Ross Hanes, who died Sept. 8, 1973; her second husband, Robert Phillip Archer, who died March 18, 1978; two sons, James Robert Hanes and Jerry Wayne Hanes; a daughter, Barbara Louise Lauer; a sister, Helen Korpeski; five brothers, Clyde, Glenn, Art, Walt and Albert Gibson; and a son-in-law, Frank Mohler.
She leaves three sons, Charles Ross (Shirley) Hanes, Jr. of North Salem, Trent Lee (Judi) Hanes of Byesville, and Lanta Lee (Liz) Archer of Cambridge; two daughters, Carol Lynn Mohler of Cambridge and Bobbie Jean (Dale) Harding of Cambridge; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Hanes of Chillicothe; four sisters, Elizabeth (Clyde) Baker of New Philadelphia, Ethel (Joe) Mikeska of Texas, Patsy (Carl Smith of Newcomerstown and Dorothy (Robert) Miller of Florida; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great- grandchild.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (Sunday) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Jerry Blankenship officiating.
Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
