OBITUARY:
"Orval Floyd Fowler was born May 14, 1894 in Arcadia, Nebraska to Ephraim Alonzo Fowler and Clara Harris Fowler. He was the 2nd of 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He and his childhood sweetheart along with both families moved to Texas in 1914. Two years later he married Dora Orpha Parker and to this union 8 children were born.
Luther, 4, oldest and sister Beatrice, 2, passed away in Texas.
Surviving children are: Geneva Keefer of Fallon, Nevada; Edna Penola of Battle Mtn., Nevada; L.Nora Weaver of Gardnerville, Nevada; Nena Casper of Coquille, Oregon; Bonnie Nance of Yuma, Arizona; Sonny Fowler of Fallon, Nevada.
He was a farmer all his life and took great pride in his work. The Great Dust Bowl of Texas in 1937 caused him to lose everything so he brought his family to Fallon, where he continued in his profession until retiring 5 years ago.
On December 31, 1981, Orval and Dora were married 65 years. He is survived by his wife Dora, six children, 1 sister, Lettie Parker of Crosbyton, Texas, two brothers, Elgin Fowler of Portales, New Mexico, and Alvin Fowler of Fallon, Nevada. Other survivors include 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are: Wayne Testolin of Elko, Nevada; Ray Bullock of Fallon, Nevada; Ned Weaver of Reno, Nevada; Randy Casper of Portland, Oregan; Ray Segura of Fallon, Nevada; and Guy Fowler of Fallon, Nevada."
