Margaret Barker Harper, 83, of Charlottesville, died Thursday Jan 27, 2011, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
She was born in Henry County on May 23, 1927 to Gilbert F. Barker, Sr. and Bessie Hundley Barker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Harper; and a brother, Gilbert F. Barker, Jr.
She was a graduate of Martinsville High School and attended Madison College.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Charles B. Harper of the home in Charlottesville; three daughters, Mary H. Turner of Springfield, Ga., Charlotte Harper of Charlottesville and Meg Harper of Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, Blain Harper of Charlottesville; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 PM today at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel, with Minister David Cuthbertson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
