Millicent R. Smitley Churray, age 77, of Dunbar Township, Fayette County, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2006, with her loving family by her side. She was born June 30, 1929, in Tower Hill #2, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Peter Smitley and Jane (Reed) Smitley. She was Protestant by faith.
Millicent was a homemaker for most of her life. Earlier, she was employed at the Keystone Fireworks Plant, in Dunbar, Fayette County, Pa., and also at Anchor Hocking Glass, in South Connellsville, Fayette County, Pa. Millicent enjoyed flower gardening and feeding the hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jack Smitley, P. C. Smitley, and Don Smitley, a sister, Agnes J. Smitley Maher, two infant sisters, Aubrey Smitley and Sarah Margaret Smitley; infant brother, Charles Donald Smitley, and a nephew, Charles R. Maher.
Left to cherish her memories are: her husband of 56 years, Lawrence S. Churray, her children, Nancy M. Hartman and her husband, Bill Hartman, and Pam Basinger and her husband, David A. Basinger, two grandchildren, David L. Basinger and Michelle L. Basinger, and two special pets, Moe and Koko, all of Dunbar, Pa.
Visitation will be held this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Fayette County, Pa., Dennis Heath, Jr., Supervisor, where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2007, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Lee Maley, officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Fayette County, Pa.
