Peter C. SMITLEY (1893-1968)
Peter C. Smitley, 73, of Dunbar, was dead on arrival at Uniontown Hospital at 6 a.m. today.

He was born Sept. 30, 1893, in Dunbar, a son of the late Abraham Lincoln Smitley and Margaret Miller Smitley. He was a member of the United Mine Workers and was last employed by the J.H. Hillman Coal and Coke Co. He was a member of Franklin Memorial Methodist Church of Dunbar.

Surviving are three sons P.C. Jr. of Uniontown, Thomas of Akron Ohio, and Jack at home; three daughters Mrs. Vincent (Agnes) Maher of Dunbar; Mrs. Ernest (Mildred) DeBlasio Jr. of Connellsville; Mrs. Lawrence (Millicent) Churray of Dunbar; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Margaret Gray of Washington D.C. and a brother John of Lemont Furnace. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Ann, in 1959.

The body will be the Burhans Funeral Home, Dunbar after 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
