Veryl W. Black, of Robertsdale R.D., was pronounced dead on arrival at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, February 6, 1972. He had been ill for the past two weeks.
Born December 27, 1917 in Waterfall, he was a son of Charles and Edna (McClain) Black. He was untied in marriage to Gladys Bolinger on July 13, 1940 at Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife; his father, these children, Larry G. of Saxton, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Swope, of Wood, Mickey L. of Robertsdale R.D., Miss Nancy J. of Harrisburg, Mrs. Samuel (Wendy) Witters of Robertsdale R.D., Tommy Mark at home, and nine grandchildren.
The following brothers and sisters also survivie: Mrs. Merrill (Hazel) Cook, Hustontown; Harper, Three Springs, R.D.; Mrs. Robert (Sylva) Shaw, Everett R.D.; Dale, McConnellsburg Star Route; Buhl, Berlin, Pa.; Homer, Everett R.D.; Mrs. Reed (Leta) Feight, Waterfall; and Wayne, Somerset.
He had been a carpenter by trade.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 9 at 11 a.m. from the McClain funeral home, Cassville. The Rev. Robert P. Raycroft will officiate and interment will be made in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Robertsfale R.D.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday until the hour of the services.
