Dr. Wayne D. Black BROOKSVILLE, Fla. Word has been received of the death of Dr. Wayne D. Black, 67, of Brooksville, , Fla., who died on Friday, July 27, 2001, at home. Born Sept. 8. 1933 in Waterfall, Pa., he was a son of the late Charles and Edna McClain Black of Waterfall. He moved from Rockwood, Pa., to Florida 14 years ago. He was a Presbyterian. Dr. Black was an elementary school principal for Rockwood School District. He was a former coordinator for the Hernando County Guardian Ad Litem and a member of both Spring Hill Regional Hospital's advisory and Hernando Pasco Hospice board of directors, all in Florida. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army Presidential Honor Guard. Surviving are his wife, Janet K Fike Black of Brooksville; two sons, Sean G. (husband of Carol) of Springfield, Tenn., and Shannon U. of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Sylva Shaw of Bedford, Pa.,and Leta J. Feight of Waterfall; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Courtney of Springfield. Five brothers and a sister, Harper, Veryl, Dale, Buhl, Homer Lee and Hazel Cook, preceded him in death. Service was on July 30 in Turner' Funeral Home, Brooksville. Chaplain Roland Nelson officiated.
