Dale E. Black, 74, of Williamsport Pike, and formerly of Knobsville, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.


Born in Waterfall, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles and Edna McClain Black.


He retired from the US Army and Air Force after 21 years, in 1963. He served during WW II, the Korean Conflict; and the Vietnam War.


He was a member of the State of Foreign Wars and the American Legion; a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Cub; and the Disabled American Veterans Club of Chambersburg.


He is survived by his wife, Bertha Miller Black; two daughters, three sons, two sisters, three brothers, 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Cook; and two brothers, Homer Black and Veryl Black.


Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg.


Burial will be in Center United Methodist Cemetery in Waterfall.


The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
