The funeral of Herman Rohwer was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Henry Rohwer home, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Myers, pastor of the Garwin U. B. church.
Pall bearers were six nephews of the deceased Harry Ballhorn, Alfred C. Rohwer, George Rohwer, Alfred Rohwer, Rueben Arp and Milo Arp.
Interment was in the Crystal cemetery near Salem church.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. John Schimmer of Calumet; Mr. and Mrs. John Kundel, Sutherland; Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Kelling, Renwick; Mrs. G. C. Wheeler. Goldfield; Mr. and Mrs. John Rohwer and son, George, Grundy Center.
Herman Rohwer. son of Claus and Frances Rohwer, was born in Scott county, Iowa, on August 1, 1886, and departed this life at Pipestone, Minn. April 30. 1930.
In 1886 his parents removed to Tama county, Iowa, where he resided until the age of 18. since which time he has made his home at Pipestone. He took his fatal illness of pneumonia on April 21 at the place where he was working, even the skill of hospital attendants failing to save his life. He was the first child of a
family of ten to bring his life to a close, leaving the following to mourn their loss: Doris Kundel, Sutherland, Ia.; John Rohwer, Grundy Center; Alvena Ballhorn, Garwin; Carollne Schimmer, Calumet, Ia.; Katie Kensington, Los Angeles, Cal.; Celia Carstensen. Pipestone. Minn.; George Rohwer, Garwin; Annie Arp. Gladbrook; and Henry Rohwer, Garwin.
