Mrs. Esther Grube, 84, of 523 Pine St., Sheboygan Falls, died Sunday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital.
The former Esther Guenther was born April 14, 1899, in Sheboygan, daughter of Robert and Anna Handrow Guenther. Sher attended local schools.
On Sept. 28, 1917, she and George Grube Sr. were married in Waukegan, Ill. The couple lived in Land O' Lakes from 1952 to 1979. Mr. Grube died March 4, 1979.
Mrs. Grube was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Kohler, and the Ladies Aid and Guild of the church.
She was also a member of World War II Veterans' Auxiliary, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Auxiliaries.
She is survived by four sons, Charles R. of St. Anna, George Jr. of rural Kiel, Robert of Fontana, Calif., and Kenneth of Kiel; three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Marion) Katusic of rural Valders, Mrs. Marvin (Elizabeth) Krosscheli of St. Ignace, Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Robert (Diane) Billmann of Sheboygan Falls; 33 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Guenther of Kohler, Clarence Guenther of Sheboygan, and Gilbert Guenther of Sheboygan Falls; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Klemm of Rocky Knoll.
She was preceded in death by one son, two grandchildren, and three brothers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kross Mason Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Hamilton, pastor of Grace United Church of Christ in Kohler, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Grube's name.
