George D. Grube, 69, of 18705 Mueller Rd., died unexpectedly at his home of an apparent heart attack on Thursday evening, Nov. 4, 1993.
He was born Oct. 29, 1924 in Sheboygan, son of the late George Sr. and Esther Guenther Grube. He was a 1943 graduate of Kiel High School. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1943, serving in the South Pacific. He was wounded and discharged in 1945. On July 20, 1946 he married Vivian Ehnert at First Presbyterian Church, Kiel. He was employed at Tecumseh Products Company, New Holstein, for 14 years. He founded La-Tec Credit Union in 1962 and served as treasurer and manager until 1975. He was in sales for Bullock and Best Built Garages, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kiel, where he served as an elder; Sheboygan VFW/Wolf Olson Post #1230; life member of DAV Manitowoc Chapter 15; Tecumseh Wednesday Golf League; and the Monday Morning Heartland Golf League, Howards Grove. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; three sons, Guy (Mary Jo), Kiel; Jan (Kathleen), Spring Lake; Kim (Diane) Kiel; one daughter, Georgia (James) Mangan, Newton; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Marion (Luis) Katusic, Pigeon Lake; Betty Krosschel, Canada; and Diane (Robert) Billman, Sheboygan Falls. He was preceded in death by one son John Charles, and four brothers.
