"Whether a man winds up with a nest egg or a goose egg, depends on the chick he married". That is our mom. Lucille McCarthey, 98, our precious mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and yes, great great grandmother, who knew her as MeMa Mac.
She went to be with the Lord in Heaven 2/11/2014, after a long , happy, feisty life. She was born to Clyde & Elizabeth Elliott on 9/22/1915. She lived just outside of Tuttle, on a farm, most of her adult life and was a longtime member at the First Baptist church of Tuttle. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1994.
She married her soul-mate, Henry McCarthey 2/3/1934 in Chickasha, OK. They had the best time working, playing, and traveling together. Henry passed in 1994.
Lucille is survived by 2 sisters, Virgie Bridges & Bessie Cummings, 4 children, Donnie McCarthey & wife Janell of Tuttle, Larry McCarthey, Devota & husband Jim Boweers, and Judy & husband John Shields, all of Oklahoma City, 11 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, and 2 great great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Brooks, Dale, Clyde, & Raymond (as an infant), and 4 sisters, Thelma Steel, Marjorie Ballard, Julia Beck, & Georgia (as an infant). Please join us in celebrating our dear mother's life at First Baptist church of Tuttle, on Monday, 2/17/2014 at 1pm.
