Clyde Rex Elliott, age 86, died Thursday May 10, 2007 at his home in Mustang, OK. He was born December 23, 1920 in Carnegie, OK to Clyde V. and Elizabeth (Holcomb) Elliott. Clyde grew up in the Chickasha, Ninnekah, and Tuttle areas before moving to Mustang as a teenager. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII and was a part of Omaha Beach on D-Day. This had interrupted his high school work and in 2003 received his high school diploma from Mustang High School. Clyde worked for 33 years at FAA as an airplane mechanic. He loved to fish, play cards and dominoes and tell TALL tales. Clyde was a big Barry Switzer and a Sooners fan and enjoyed all kinds of racing, especially Nascar. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Brooks, Dale and Raymond (infant); four sisters, Thelma Anderson, Margie Ballard, Julie Beck, and Georgette Elliott (infant). Clyde is survived by his wife, Hazel Marguerite of the home; two sons, Clyde E. and wife Patricia of Nashville, TN and Rodney of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Janice Angel and companion J.G. of Mustang; seven grandchildren, Tammie, Bryant and Malinda, Angie and Bryan, and Brandon and Sue; and by seven great grandchildren. Also by three sisters, Lucille McCarthey of OKC, Virgie Bridges of Parker TX, and Bessie Cummings of Seattle, WA. Services will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment to follow at Mustang Cemetery.
