James (Jimmy, as he was called) served in WWII with the rank of Private. During the war he was a jeep driver and "all over" the western front in Europe. Following his honorable discharge from the US Army, Jimmy farmed for a few years, then becoming a representative for a Life Insurance Company. Jimmy was a very popular and skilled baseball player on the Micanopy Baseball team.
