Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, March 25 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church for Charles E. Pruitt, 88, of Lufkin with burial in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Pruitt was born Aug. 11, 1914 in Hart County, GA., and died Friday, March 21 in a Lufkin hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked as a superintendent of a compressor station for Natural Gas Pipeline Company for 41 years and had lived in Lufkin since 1954. Mr. Pruitt was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Lufkin Evening Lions Club, Lufkin Polka Dots, Luf-To-Go-Sams Club and the East Texas German American Club.

Survivors: wife of 62 years, Josephine Pruitt; daughter, Charlotte Pruitt; sister, Harriet Savage; brother, Frank Pruitt; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
