Mr. Pruitt was born Aug. 11, 1914 in Hart County, GA., and died Friday, March 21 in a Lufkin hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked as a superintendent of a compressor station for Natural Gas Pipeline Company for 41 years and had lived in Lufkin since 1954. Mr. Pruitt was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Lufkin Evening Lions Club, Lufkin Polka Dots, Luf-To-Go-Sams Club and the East Texas German American Club.
Survivors: wife of 62 years, Josephine Pruitt; daughter, Charlotte Pruitt; sister, Harriet Savage; brother, Frank Pruitt; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
