Floyd Williams

BIRMINGHAM -- Floyd H. Williams, 85, a lifetime Van Buren County resident, died the afternoon of Oct. 15 at Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua.

He was born June 21, 1895, near Birmingham to Thomas and Mary Hootman Williams. He married Jennie Harley. She died in June 1931 (sic. 1932 on her headstone inscription). He married Winnie Hodson Bailey in December 1940. He was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church and a retired factory employee of Loudon's. He was the last member of the Williams' Brothers Quartet which had sung locally for 60 years.

Survivors: his wife; sons, Dean of Kansas City, Mo., and Forrest Bailey of Burlington; daughters, Marjorie Ellingsworth of Mount Vernon, Ill. and Mildred Rankin of Elsberry, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday at his church, the Rev. David R. Kennedy officiating. Burial: Maple Hill Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Burch Funeral Home, Birmingham.
